Welcome to the ExpatExpress.com website. This is a legally valid contract (the "Agreement") between the customer ("you", "your") and ExpatExpress. The Agreement defines how the service works, and how you may use the site. Once you agree to all the conditions you may use the site.
You are solely responsible for keeping your account information including address, payment, and other information up to date. You may change the shipping address to send shipments to a different address, but keep in mind that if you neglect to change it back and we ship to the address currently on file, you will need to contact the shipping company directly to re-direct the shipment if possible. ExpatExpress.com does NOT ship to P.O. boxes.
We appreciate customers referring their friends to ExpatExpress, but strongly recommend that you do NOT allow others to access or use your ExpatExpress account. ExpatExpress accounts are free,so if you have an interested friend, please have them create their own account.
ExpatExpress may cancel an account or prevent any individual from having an ExpatExpress account at its sole discretion, for any reason whatsoever.
Items are not to be held at the ExpatExpress warehouse for more than 90 days after delivery. If an item remains at the warehouse for more than 90 days, the item will be determined to be abandoned and ExpatExpress will dispose of the item as it sees fit. ExpatExpress will have no liability for disposing of the item(s).
ExpatExpress provides loss and damage protection free of charge for items valued up to $100 USD. After the first $100 in value, Damage Loss Protection can be purchased at $2 for every $100 following the first $100. Loss or Damage Protection is required with each transaction unless you specifically opt out of protection. In the case that you wish to file a claim, you must notify ExpatExpress of the claim within 30 calendar days of the item being shipped, and provide pictures of any damaged items and packaging. No claim will be honored unless there is physical damage to the package and contents. All claims will also require proof of purchase and value. No claims for loss will be valid if the carrier shows by its records that the items were delivered. No claim will be honored for used or vintage items, collectables, ceramics, or glass. *Used items will be covered for loss, but not damage. ExpatExpress will cover a maximum of $2,500 on antiques, fine art, jewelery, costume jewelry, watches, objects constructed of fine metal and/or stones, and laptop computers.
Protection is effective from the time Access/ExpatExpress has control or possession of the shipment until the time of delivery. Physical loss or damage of goods is covered, subject to specific limitations and exclusions.
Limitations and exclusions
Loss or damage protection covers items in transit worldwide, although temporary restrictions may apply from time to time as a consequence of, but not limited to, political, terrorist, nuclear and war risks, or on the advice of government officials. It does not cover the following: delay, ordinary leakage, loss in weight or volume, or wear and tear of the shipment, loss, damage or expense caused by insufficiency or unsuitability of packing or preparation of the shipment by the manufacturer; loss, damage or expense caused by inherent vice or nature of the shipment; loss, damage or expense attributable to the willful misconduct by the customer or its agents; loss, damage or expense caused by delay; loss, damage or expense arising from the use of any atomic or nuclear weapon or radioactivity.
Basis of Loss Settlement
Coverage is limited to the value declared by the shipper, replacement cost, invoice value or actual cash value whichever is the lowest. Evidence may be requested to substantiate the declared value in the event of a claim. In the event of total loss of your shipment, with Loss or Damage Protection, you will also be entitled to a refund of the shipping charge. In the event of a partial loss, you will be entitled to a refund of the relevant proportion of the shipping charge.

The items you are importing by use of the ExpatExpress services may require duty or tax be paid by the shipping company on your behalf upon entry. In the case that duties or taxes are due, the shipping company will follow their own procedures for payment of these duties and or taxes on your behalf and then collection from you.
ExpatExpress is in no way responsible for the assessment of duties or taxes, and cannot intervene on your behalf with the customs officials in your country.
In the case that you request an item be returned you will be responsible for contacting the etailer and securing return labels which can be sent or emailed to ExpatExpress. ExpatExpress will charge you a Returns Fee as well as shipping if you are not able to secure a return shipping label.
In the case that an etailer contacts ExpatExpress and requests items be return because of suspected fraud, we will contact you and notify you of the request. You will have an opportunity to resolve the issue with the retailer. If however the issue cannot be resolved and the etailer continues to request a return, ExpatExpress will process the return and charge you the Return Fee. ExpatExpress will not process the returns for Buy for Me service except where incorrect items are purchased or shipped by ExpatExpress.
ExpatExpress collects information related to the IP address when an ExpatExpress server is accessed, information related to terminal identification, and information related to access history, etc. using cookie technology and other techniques. Such information is used for authorizing user access to the site, surveying usage conditions, providing optimal service, and for other purposes. The service cannot be used when settings prohibit the above-described collection of information
As a principle, ExpatExpress never discloses user information to a third party without the prior consent of the user. However, user information or other personal information may be disclosed without the prior consent of the user when disclosure is required by law, when disclosure has been determined by ExpatExpress to be necessary in order to protect ExpatExpress, or when carrying out operations in cooperation with companies affiliated with ExpatExpress (such as providing your address to the shipping company.). In such cases, ExpatExpress demands that the affiliated companies carry out appropriate management in relation to the handling of user information.
ExpatExpress may provide marketing information to you by email, and you can unsubscribe to this marketing by editing your settings in My Account on the ExpatExpress site. However, some information must be transmitted to you by ExpatExpress in order to process orders etc. and will be sent even if you have unsubscribed to the marketing emails.
From time to time, ExpatExpress may carry out system maintenance with or without prior warning. We will do our best to keep these maintenance windows to a minimum, but ExpatExpress cannot be responsible for any damages caused to you in relation to this mainentance or site outages.
ExpatExpress is not in anyway responsible for any errors or omissions caused by any online store that you have purchased product from to be shipped to ExpatExpress. Inquiries must be made directly to the online store in relation to the service details, transaction details, products, product returns, and product exchanges of the online store.
ExpatExpress bears no responsibility for impairment incurred due to unpredictable factors or factors unrelated to management of ExpatExpress; damages caused by interruption, outage, data loss, or unauthorized access caused by such impairment; and damages related to the used of the ExpatExpress service.
